Emission-free lifting: Spierings Mobile Cranes delivers the first fully electric mobile tower crane to Cauvas Occilev, the SK487-AT3 City Boy.

Spierings Mobile Cranes proudly announces the delivery of the SK487-AT3 City Boy to the French company Cauvas. With this delivery, Cauvas becomes the first company in France to operate a fully electric Spierings mobile tower crane, marking an important milestone in the modernization of the French lifting market.

Developed and engineered in the Netherlands, the SK487-AT3 City Boy represents a major step forward in sustainable lifting solutions, offering a unique zero-emission option for both urban and environmentally sensitive projects.

Compact design, sustainable performance

As urban construction sites face increasing restrictions, the City Boy provides a practical and future-proof solution. Its hybrid concept enables both road travel and crane operations in fully electric mode.
For Cauvas, the choice for the City Boy is based on four key pillars:

  • Unrivaled compactness
With a width of just 2.50 m, the City Boy can easily access dense city centers where conventional cranes are no longer permitted.
  • Zero emission, zero noise
Operating on battery power or via a grid connection (16 AMP / 32 AMP), the crane enables night work and use in Low Emission Zones (LEZ) without noise disturbance or air pollution.
  • Spierings expertise
The proven reliability and advanced engineering of Spierings Mobile Cranes ensure high productivity levels and increased safety on site.
  • Service focus and Smart Connect support
To support Cauvas’ frequent night operations, Spierings provides 24/7 service assistance. Thanks to the Smart Connect system (4G modem), remote diagnostics and troubleshooting are available at all times.

Shaping the future of the lifting market

For Spierings, this delivery represents more than just another crane in operation. It underlines the company’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and setting new standards in the lifting industry.

Benjamin Cauvas, Director of the Cauvas Group, says:
“What we value most is the City Boy’s unique electric versatility on the French market, combined with Spierings’ recognized expertise. With the City Boy, we want to create a new market by offering our clients a lifting solution for sites with restricted access, especially in city centers. It also allows us to meet the growing demand for environmentally responsible lifting solutions.”
