Spierings Mobile Cranes develops mobile tower cranes that lift smarter, more efficiently and more sustainably. That same innovative mindset now forms the foundation of our sustainability strategy. Because for us, smarter lifting also means using energy, materials, processes and the entire lifecycle of our mobile tower cranes more intelligently. Innovation has been part of our DNA for almost 40 years and continues to form the foundation of every Spierings crane that leaves our factory. While our focus once centred on organising lifting operations more intelligently, today we are building mobile tower cranes that not only excel in performance but also contribute to a more sustainable construction industry.

Our vision on sustainability
For Spierings, sustainability goes far beyond reducing emissions. We look at the entire lifecycle of a mobile tower crane: from design and production to operation on the construction site, refurbishment and reuse. Every stage offers opportunities to work smarter, reduce waste and further minimise our environmental footprint.
For us, sustainability is not a separate project or a collection of individual initiatives. It is an integral part of how we develop, manufacture and support Spierings cranes throughout their entire lifecycle. Through our Mission to Zero Emission, we are building a future where innovation, circularity, digitalisation and craftsmanship come together. Because creating a more sustainable construction site starts with the way mobile tower cranes are designed, built and maintained.

Zero-emission lifting starts with eLift
The sustainability impact of a mobile tower crane becomes visible on the construction site. That is why Spierings developed eLift: an innovative technology that enables fully electric lifting without compromising performance or operational flexibility.
Our sustainable mobile tower cranes operate emission-free using either a 16A or 32A power connection. When grid power is temporarily unavailable, the integrated PowerPack ensures that the crane can continue to operate fully electrically.
Zero-emission lifting not only reduces CO₂ emissions, but also lowers noise levels, reduces energy consumption and creates a more pleasant working environment. This prepares Spierings cranes for the growing demand for zero-emission construction sites and increasingly stringent regulations regarding emissions and noise.
For Spierings, eLift is more than just a technological innovation. It is an important step towards the construction site of the future.

The factory of the future
Sustainable manufacturing does not start on the construction site, but in our factory. That is why, step by step, we are building a production environment in Oss where sustainability, quality and operational excellence go hand in hand.
By standardising processes, applying Just-in-Time logistics and organising production intelligently, we minimise waste and use materials and resources as efficiently as possible. This enables us to create a factory that can grow flexibly with demand, without compromising on quality, safety or craftsmanship.
It is the combination of craftsmanship, innovation and a strong engineering team that ensures every Spierings crane meets the highest quality standards. Because we carry out the entire production process in Oss, we can respond quickly, apply knowledge immediately and continuously develop new innovations. In this way, we are not only building mobile tower cranes, but also a production process that becomes smarter, more efficient and future-ready every day.

Working smarter with digital technology
Sustainability is not only about energy consumption and materials. Digitalisation also plays an important role. With Spierings Smart Connect, faults can often be analysed remotely, reducing the need for service visits. This saves travel time, lowers CO₂ emissions and ensures that Spierings cranes are back in operation more quickly. By making smart use of real-time data, maintenance and service can be organised more efficiently, helping to prevent unnecessary waste.

A second life for Spierings cranes
At Spierings, we believe that sustainability does not end when a crane has completed its first lifecycle. Thanks to high-quality materials, intelligent engineering and a design focused on long service life, Spierings cranes are built to last for generations. That is why we design our cranes from the drawing board onwards with maintenance, refurbishment and reuse in mind.
At our refurbishment department in Oss, we give complete Spierings cranes as well as key components a second life. Every crane is thoroughly inspected, technically modernised where necessary and tested according to Spierings’ high quality standards. Components that meet our quality requirements are refurbished and reused, preserving valuable materials and reducing the need for new raw materials.
In this way, we extend the lifespan of our products, reduce the use of new raw materials and put circularity into practice within the construction industry. Every Spierings crane is given the opportunity to perform safely, reliably and at its best throughout its next stage of life.
Through our refurbishment department and Spierings Used Cranes, we ensure that mobile tower cranes and components remain safe, reliable and operational for as long as possible.

Sustainability in practice
- 5,390 solar panels generate a large share of the energy used at our production facility.
- Spierings Used Cranes gives complete cranes and components a second life.
- Fewer journeys thanks to Smart Connect. By analysing faults remotely whenever possible, fewer service visits are required. This reduces travel movements and lowers CO₂ emissions.
- Free charging stations for visitors encourage sustainable transport.
- Environmentally certified printed materials are produced in accordance with recognised certifications, including FSC®.
- Pioneer of the Oss Forest, actively contributing to a greener local environment.
- In-house refurbishment extends the service life of cranes and key components.

Building a more sustainable future together
Our Mission to Zero Emission is not a destination, but a continuous journey. Every innovation, every process improvement and every investment brings us one step closer to a construction industry where maximum performance goes hand in hand with minimal impact on people, the environment and the world around us.
By designing smarter, manufacturing more efficiently and continuously innovating, we are building Spierings cranes that are ready for the challenges of today and tomorrow.
