Proactive maintenance for maximum crane availability.

A reliable Spierings crane starts with a clear understanding of its technical condition. With Spierings Monitoring, we take a proactive approach. Through periodic inspections and continuous monitoring, we assess the condition of the crane and identify potential issues at an early stage.

Our specialists combine these insights with their technical expertise to provide targeted maintenance recommendations. This allows maintenance to be carried out at the right time, reducing the risk of unplanned downtime and keeping your Spierings crane safe, reliable and ready for operation.

Inspections tailored to your crane

Not every crane or operating situation requires the same type of inspection. That is why Spierings offers various forms of monitoring and technical inspections, ranging from targeted checks of specific components to a comprehensive assessment of the crane’s technical condition.

Quick Scan

The Quick Scan focuses on various technical inspection points of the crane, including its steel structure. Using a defined set of inspection points, our specialists assess the crane to identify potential issues at an early stage.

Safety Scan

The Safety Scan focuses on safety and the safe operation of the crane. This inspection is aligned with the crane’s periodic statutory inspection requirements. A two-year inspection cycle applies, with a TCVT inspection required in the intervening year. The Safety Scan is carried out using Spierings’ specific technical knowledge and experience. In other words, a safety inspection through the eyes of Spierings specialists.

SUVA inspection

For customers in Switzerland, Spierings has SUVA-registered inspectors who are authorised to carry out inspections in accordance with local requirements. This inspection is comparable to our Safety Scan.

Condition monitoring

This inspection focuses on the reliability and technical condition of the crane. Its purpose is to identify potential problems at an early stage and minimise unnecessary downtime. Condition monitoring helps align maintenance with the actual condition of the crane and can be used alongside periodic inspections.

Full Scan

Would you like a complete understanding of the technical condition of your Spierings crane? During a Full Scan, the crane undergoes a comprehensive inspection. Our specialists assess existing defects, potential preventive repairs and relevant upgrades or options that have not yet been implemented. This provides a detailed overview of the crane’s technical condition and the work required to restore it to optimal condition.

Ultrasonic testing (UT)

Ultrasonic testing is a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) method used, among other things, to measure material thickness. The structure does not need to be damaged or dismantled.

Magnetic particle testing (MT)

Magnetic particle testing is also a Non-Destructive Testing method. It can be used to inspect welded joints for potential cracks. Spierings is certified to carry out this test.

In-depth crane knowledge makes the difference

An inspection is about more than following a checklist. The real added value lies in recognising and assessing what is found during an inspection. Our specialists know Spierings mobile tower cranes inside out and have years of experience in maintenance, repair and inspection.

This enables them not only to identify an issue, but also to assess what it means for the crane’s condition and availability. We translate this knowledge into practical maintenance recommendations, helping crane owners plan ahead with confidence.

Monitoring as part of Spierings QSE

Spierings Monitoring is part of the Quality, Safety & Environment (QSE) department. This department focuses not only on the quality of the cranes leaving our factory, but also on the quality and technical condition of Spierings cranes already in operation.

Monitoring works closely with the Service Desk, Support Desk and Parts Desk whenever an inspection identifies the need for maintenance, repairs or further technical support.

The Support Desk can assist with remote technical diagnostics, the Parts Desk supplies the required genuine Spierings parts, and the Service Desk can arrange for a Service Engineer.

This ensures that inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and parts supply work together towards one goal: keeping your Spierings crane as safe, reliable and operational as possible.
